IPR5000w Software Update Instructions
Check the version-specific release notes to see if there are any special instructions (click on the version name below to expand its notes).

Click here to download the latest version of the IPR5000w Software, Version 1.78.

Double click the downloaded file to start the installation process, then follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Note: It is not necessary to first uninstall previous versions of the IPR5000w software. The new version can be installed to the same directory (which upgrades the previous version) or installed to a different directory so both versions will be available.
When the installion is complete, click the icon on your desktop to run the IPR5000w software.

Set firewall permissions: When the IRP5000w software is executed the first time, the Windows firewall may display a prompt asking whether you want to grant permission for the IPR5000w software to access the network. You must grant this permission for the software to operate correctly (without it audio reception will be sporadic, sometimes working for a few seconds then cutting out when the firewall starts blocking VoIP packets).

Once the IPR5000w software is installed, click here for more information about setting it up.

Important Notes:
  • Fixes a bug that kept the right knob from switching channels or contacts. Even though that now works again, it may still be easier to select channels and contacts as described below:
    • To select channels: Click on the name of the current channel on the emulated LCD screen. That will open a drop-down menu showing all of the channels in the selected zone. Then click on the channel you want to select.
    • To select contacts: From the home screen, press the top-left button to access the contact list. Then just click on the desired contact on the emulated LCD screen.
  • Adds support for the Opus codec (actually all versions since V1.58 have had it). For more info, see this.
Important Notes:
  • Enforces half-duplex operation. You will now hear a busy tone if you try to key up while someone else is transmitting.
  • Reduced the volume of the keyup/unkey tones.
  • Improved VoIP audio quality with all codecs. Support for Opus codec (see this page for details).
  • New "PA" mode that lets you use the mic to talk out the speaker. Access from home screen using top-right button.
